My story - 'It's War in the Playground,' has been selected for the anthology, WOW! 366. Each of the 366 stories in the book is 366 words long. This is to match the number of days in 2008, The National Year of Reading.
The story is about a teacher on play time duty. She is prepared for war and wears a helmet and knee pads. She has to put up with flying footballs, arguing year ones and a boy who doesn't make it to the toilet in time. And the worse thing for the teacher (Miss Pearson) is that she has to do it all again in afternoon break:
"Miss! Miss!" Jessie tugged at Miss Pearson's coat. "Sam Smith bit me." Miss Pearson walked over to the year-one boy and said, "Did you bite Jessie?" "No I did not!" Sam was outraged. "I missed."
